Often when we’re getting over a problem, if someone hurt us for example, we are urged to find forgiveness for that person.
However I’ve learned (yet somehow always manage to forget) our number one priority is to check in with ourselves and see how we are feeling, and how we want to feel …so I think forgiving of the self is more important.
Recite:
I forgive myself for ever thinking I did anything wrong across all times, dimensions and realities.
…and perhaps once we can forgive ourselves, we can then forgive the other person too. Forgive them to take us out of our pain, forgive them in order to be set free, forgive them in order to see the situation with different eyes and trust the process.
And if you’re angry? That’s okay too. Anger will make us move. It’s the depression that’s the scary part. Own your anger, scream it out at the top of your lungs! Kick a boxing bag! Run up a hill! Whatever it is that’ll get you moving and expressing, just do it.
And then maybe we pray again.
